Portland
No Game of Thrones Meetup Tonight :(
Sorry for not updating sooner but, it's my brother's 30th birthday today so, I'll be busy celebrating that instead of hosting a viewing this evening.
Will update next week as I don't believe I'll have any conflicting appointments. Sorry for the inconvenience and have a great Sunday.

Any local bands (21+) interested in a battle of the bands?
I'm a local promoter trying to put together a local battle of the bands. This is NOT a "pay to play" situation. Its free for you to play and comes with a cash prize if you win. I'm open to all genres and styles.
If your interested, I'd love to take a look at your stuff! Feel free to post links to it here or PM me. I'm also open to answers any questions that may arise.
Thanks reddit!

Visiting Portland next spring--what should I check out?
It's just short of a year away but I'm trying to make some plans for the weekend my friend and I will be there. We'll be coming from Austin, TX April 26-28, for a concert on that Saturday night, and we want to check out the city. What museums, diners, sights, etc are must-sees for the weekend? We're both under 21 unfortunately.

Anyone know best place to get a chunk of railroad track for an anvil?
I'm getting into forging and I need about a 4-foot section of track or another item of equivalent mass to pound fings on. You know, whacky whacky, look a sword! If anyone knows where to get it, please hip me to it. And suggesting theft is not helping.

Just visited r/portland today
and I became completely enamored with the city and both the wife and I want to move down there. Now we just have to figure out a way for it to happen.

"And if you look to our left, you'll see..."
Dinner and a movie at my place: Saturday 5/26 6pm
I'll be making taquitos and we can play board games and hang out. I live near PCC Rock Creek. I would like it if someone could bring some clear alcohol (white rum or vodka) for mixing drinks or some wine (I can't drink beer, but you can bring some to share with others).
Please PM me to RSVP and get the address/directions. Please let me know if you plan to bring anyone along. I will probably set the cap at around 10 people, and I may ask that someone bring a few folding chairs if that many people actually RSVP.

Considering taking the Boltbus down to Portland from Seattle with a few friends and going on a day long drinking binge through all of your breweries. Where should we go?
The goal is to bus down to your fair city early next month (once spring quarter is done) and visit as many breweries/brewpubs as we can.
We would be arriving at 647 SW Salmon St. at 11:45AM, and the last bus back home departs at 6:00PM. This leaves a little move than 5 hours to experience the beers of Portland (not nearly enough, I know). So, with as much walking as possible and as little cabbing as possible, what are some breweries we should, and realistically could, visit? Where are your best beers kept? Also, since we'll surely be hungry at some point, what is a brewpub we visit with exceptional food (AND beer).
PS You have a lot of breweries that bottle (Fullsail, Widmer, Bridgeport, a lot more..), so I've already had their beers that way. Are any of these bigger breweries worth visiting in person or should we just stick to the smaller ones that don't make it up to Seattle?

Moving to Portland! Tell me about some great neighborhoods to live in.
I'm looking for fun, walk/ride my bike to most things, parks near by, maybe some running/bike trails? I don't need too much night life, but I would love a few quality places to eat near by and a great coffee shop. I would really like a place with a backyard but not too suburb-land... where should I be looking? Thanks!
